All Studio Lab classes provide safe yet challenging opportunities for students to discover, invent, perform, respond, and connect. They learn to create dances through active participation, guided discovery, and critical reflection.

Children expand their range of motion, body articulation, and spatial awareness as they learn to solve movement problems and create simple dance phrases. They increase their knowledge of how to use the elements of space (line, path, level, size, and focus), shape, and energy to express ideas or feelings. No prerequisite.

Through consciously using the elements of energy, space and time, dancers learn body mechanics, gain strength and flexibility, and increase range of motion and coordination. Dance fundamentals develop in the context of serving expressive ideas. Movement invention is encouraged as dancers create phrases, make choices within a score, and synthesize their life experiences into movement. No prerequisite.

$30*We offer our classes in semester length sessions so children can experience the full arc of a choreographic concept. Over 30 years, our research revealed that most children need six weeks of consecutive engagement to fully adjust to a new activity, community, and teacher.Registration questions?
