Enlivening the Dance Standards – Saturday, August 1 (in-person)

$295.00

Are you a Teaching Artist expected to address the California and National Dance Standards? Do these standards ever feel dry or confusing?

In this full day, in-person workshop, we will demystify the standards, look at their philosophical underpinnings, and engage with them in enlivening ways that center inclusion, creativity, and student agency. Participants will discover how to design and implement developmentally appropriate, culturally responsive, standards-aligned dance curricula that can arc across grade levels (preK through 12) and support their authentic teaching values and goals.

Grab this rare chance to explore the Dance standards with Nancy Ng, Luna’s Executive Director of Creativity & Policy, who was on the committee to create them, and Luna’s Professional Learning Manager, Kimiko Guthrie, who co-designed and co-taught the first Dance Methods course for the new CA Dance Credential program at Cal State East Bay.

Connect with other Teaching Artists from across the state in our lovely, ADA-accessible studio in Berkeley!
